Vanadra's Scourge, sometimes refereed to simply as a Scourge, is a unit part of the Daemon Legions faction and a greater daemon of Vanadra. It is known as a Shayteen in Qassar [1].

Description[]

Scourges have been described as huge red monsters [1][2]. Icons of simmering rage and bestial fury, mountains of corded muscles[3]. It is said that their appetite for destruction is unimaginable[3].

Common features of the scourges include cloven hoofs and horns[2]. Another common feature is wings, as well as talons. [1][3]

Scourges are also said to use weapons formed of lesser daemons, forced into the shapes of the weapons of mortal (such as a scimitars[1]). These weapons supposedly exhibit features such as eyes, mouths and appendages. They are also able to bellow as fiercely as the scourge wielding them. [3]

The scourge is also said to be similar in appearance to the Omen of Savar, though more muscular and not quite as tall. [4]

Power[]

In raw strength, scourges have been observed to be able to knock horses and humans away as if they were mere dolls. A notable feature is that attacking a scourge only seems to provoke it, making it more and more deadly [3]. [1]

Summoning[]

Summoning a scourge of Vanadra requires blood sacrifice[3]. Other substances are also often used, such as brimstone, wax and dirt. [2]

It is said that a scourge must be placated by bloodshed before a conjurer can hope to reason with it. [3]

Since the scourge often use mould their weapons from lesser daemons, it seems common practice to have prepared for a second smaller summoning in conjunction with summoning a scourge. [3]

Sources[]

One source used here never actually mentions the daemon as a scourge. It describes a huge daemon of Vanadra. We assume this to be a scourge. [2]
